United Engine Corporation (part of Rostec State Corporation) presented at the 9th. St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF) its advanced achievements in the field of gas turbine units for gas transportation.
The holding presented a full-scale model of 16 MW gas turbine unit with a low emission combustor developed by UEC-Aviadvigatel, a model of 25 MW AL-41ST-25 advanced engine developed by UEC-UMPO (Ufa) and a projected design of GPA-25U standardized gas compressor set unit developed by UEC-Gas Turbines (Rybinsk) following the agreement signed between Aleksandr Artyukhov, UEC General Director and Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee, Gazprom in May 2017. A series of discussions was scheduled during the Forum.
According to Aleksandr Artyukhov, the UEC keeps on developing new promising equipment, improving the reliability and quality of products, finding new up-to-date ways of work with customers and first of all, with Gazprom.
The 25 MW gas turbine unit with low emission combustor shown at SPIGF 2019 passed bench testing at Permskaya Compressor Station of Gazprom Transgaz Chaikovsky. Compliance with the customer requirements in terms of environmental performance indicators was confirmed including NOx and CO levels.
The low emission combustor design is based on the following engineering solutions:
- dry low NOx technology;
- multi-manifold fuel supply to the combustor;
- protection from vibrating combustion, etc.
In June 2019, UEC and Gazprom signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum an agreement of understanding on development of a new highly efficient 25 MW AL-41ST-25 gas turbine for gas compressor applications at Gazprom facilities. It is planned to build a whole family of highly efficient gas turbine engines on the base of a common gas generator for gas compressor sets rated at up to 42 MW. A full-scale model of the advanced engine was displayed at SPIGF 2019 at the Gazprom stand.
Advantages of GPA-25U standardized gas compressor set:
- cost reduction for design and construction of compressor stations, maintenance and repair of the gas compressor equipment;
- feasibility of using gas turbine equipment with drives produced by different manufacturers.
