Seven GPA-16U gas compressor sets manufactured by Rybinsk company UEC-Gas Turbines (UEC-GT, part of the United Engine Corporation, Rostec) became operational as a part of a booster compressor station at 2S gas processing plant at the Zapolyarnoye oil, gas and condensate field.
The Zapolyarnoye field ranks among Russia’s largest fields in terms of gas reserves.
GPA-16U gas compressor sets are the main equipment of the booster compressor station. The units are driven by PS-90GP-2 gas turbine engines produced by UEC- Perm Engines. The UEC-GT specialist performed installation supervision and commissioning of the supplied equipment.
UEC-GT supplied 20 GPA-16U units to Zapolyarnoye field within 2016-2018.
Commercial production from the Zapolyarnoye field started in 2001 with the development of the Cenomanian deposits and reached 100 billion cubic meters of gas per year in 2004. Gazprom develops the Zapolyarnoye field using advanced engineering solutions and modern highly reliable equipment designed for operation under severe weather conditions.
