UEC-Gas Turbines JSC (UEC-GT, part of the United Engine Corporation, Rostec Corporation) was chosen to host the United Engine Corporation (UEC) IV Corporate Championship in Welding Technologies competence considering the technological features of the company.
Welding operations take more than 50% in the UEC-GT production cycle and this is the highest indicator in the Corporation. The company has up-to-date equipment of leading world manufacturers and highly professional personnel. The UEC-GT representatives achieved high results several times at the regional and all-Russian professional skills competitions. In 2017 two employees of the company - Andrey Tikhomirov and Aleksei Stilaev - were selected by Rostec Corporation according to WorldSkills standards and joined to the combined team for participation in the IV National Competition of Cross-Industry Jobs in High-Tech Industries according to the WorldSkills Hi–Tech methodology 2017.
More than 500 specialists in two nominations - The Best Young Professional and The Best Skilled Professional - will participate in the UEC IV Corporate Championship. The competition will be held at 14 enterprises located in the different regions of Russia. The Championship will have a format of professional skills competitions for a number of mandatory competences, such as, turning on CNC machines; milling on CNC machines; CAD engineering graphics; welding technologies; maintenance of aviation equipment and additional competencies: life cycle management, non-destructive testing and manufacturing engineer. The UEC Expert community composed of highly skilled specialists who also have experience of participating in the WorldSkills championships is developing a general assignment and evaluation criteria taking into account international standards. The competition tasks are of practical nature and take into account the specifics of the engine-building enterprises activities.
The Championship will take place from 28 May to 1 June. UEC-GT will host the Corporation welders in the framework of the Championship for the third time.
